Design Studio class taught by architect and professor Simone Bove has a new innovative twist: virtual reality. This week prof. Bove is revising PI students’ works literally entering inside their 3D projects using VR technology.
PI students had already the chance to fully experience how VR can be applied to architecture thanks to prof. Matthew Vitti’s unique classes on the subject.
On September 23rd, installation artist Kristin Jones came as guest speaker at the Pantheon Institute. During her lecture she discussed about the architectural and artistic structure of the Pantheon and she discussed her works of art in the Eternal City.
With a deep commitment to public projects and the belief that art is a powerful vehicle for urban renewal and environmental awareness, Jones has spent her career creating large-scale collaborative works for the public domain. She has devoted more than 16 years to the founding of the Rome-based non-profit TEVERETERNO. By partnering with a treasury of artists, colleagues and the City of Rome to raise awareness of the Tiber River, Jones directed and facilitated programs for its protection and revitalization. Her installations, works on and paper and time-lapse photography have been exhibited internationally.
On June 24 and 25 the International Conference on the projects for the grand Villa Adriana Designing the Unesco Buffer Zone has been held at the prestigious Politecnico of Milan.
Director Romolo Martemucci has been invited and he has given a speech during the first part of the conference.
The conference has hosted worldwide architects and scholars who had the chance to present their works to the Accademia Adrianea commitee and audience.
The Pantheon Institute is an official partner of the Accademia Adrianea and every year our students take part to the Premio Piranesi, the annual International contest for University students of Architecture coming from all over the world.
